laguna loud warning beep but no info

My Jan 2007 mk 11 Initial auto 2.2 deisel has been running fine (touch wood) since I bought it four months ago. Until the last couple of weeks when after inserting the key card and it has run through its checks it sounds a LOUD beep with no on screen warnings. I have been to the local renault dealers and asked them if they would listen, but no they were too busy, I would have to book it in. The service receptionist did not think anything would show on a diagnostic test and said it may be just a 'cracked' wire and her advice was to keep driving as otherwise the car is fine. It could cost an arm and a leg if I left it with them so I was hoping someone here might have an idea.
