Unhappy Megane failed mot

My beloved Megane failed her mot today on 2 bulbs and both front coil springs . getting work done on monday morning £213 inc vat got to pay partial retest as well so to every that has a mk1 ph2 megane check your front coil spring because if there corroded like mind was it will fail....!

I am wondering if you live in a seaside villa and park on the beach
Is the suspension sagging, I guess if the springs had been wire-brushed it would have passed. Perhaps an MOT tester could comment.

Red face Re: Megane failed mot

I live brum but the car was originally from newcastle upon tyne . I did wire brush them down and paint them but they still failed . Front (both) coil springs corroded so that its cross sectional area is reduced and seriously weaken (2.4.c1b) that is what written on my fail certificate . Havent noticed the suspension sagging in any way still a very comfortable car to drive !
