New battery and now flashing and clicking and wipers going mad

Ok so I am glutten for punishment.

I am looking at buying a car that had an engine problem. When I got there with a charged battery as the car had been stood a while, I put it on and the left hand indicators came on and the windscreen wipers went buzurk. Nothing would stop it all. No response from key card and relays were clattering.

Oh yeah, its a 1.9dci laguna 2001.

Has anyone got any ideas.

Take the earth off turn on the lights and try again,
or do the sensible thing and walk away.

Thanks for the quick response, I know I should take your advice and walk away but I was hoping it would or could be an easy fix.

Anymore thoughts folks

Water or damp in any of the fuse boxes.
try unplugging any relays one by one and clean
the contacts check engine earth strap don't know
were it is on your car, failing that get your running
shoes on.
