2003 Clio Lights and Wiper problems

Hi.

I am having trouble with my 2003 Renault Clio 1.2 Dynamique

Every once in a while, when I turn my lights on they come on straight away after hearing the relay click. About 5-10 seconds later, I can hear the relay click again and all the lights go out, (Headlights, sidelights and dash lights) Roughly 5-10 seconds later I can hear the relay click once again and the all the lights come back on. This has happened a handful of occasion (One when I was travelling down a dark unlit road)

Also, only once has this happened but it did the same with the wipers. I clicked the wipers on with the stalk and nothing happened. A good 2 minutes later, the relay clicked and I had wipers again.

Is this a relay problem or could it have something to do with the UCH or Multi-Timer? Also, how much would it cost to fix roughly?

	UCH UCH The UCH (Unite Centrale Habitacle) is an electronic control module that is fitted to many late model Renaults (early 2000's onwards.) It is responsible for controlling many of the non-engine related functions of the car, such as central locking, electric windows, and even some of the lights (e.g. indicators.) A brand new UCH is supplied with a blank memory. This must be coded (using the Renault Clip computer) to match the serial number of the ECU and key/card before it will work with the car. The memory can only be written once, so a used UCH cannot be taken from a donor vehicle to be used in another unless the ECU and keyfobs/cards are also transferred.

Does the car have automatic wiper and light activation fitted?

Yes it does.

The lights will cut out on both manual and automatic settings so I don't think it is the sensor, more likely relays/UCH?

Hi guys/girls,

I've just joined this forum in the hope of finding an answer to this question. I to have a 1.2 dynamique 2003 clio and this issue cropped up on my car about a month ago.

Randomly (sometimes it goes several days without happening but sometimes it happens 3 or 4 times a day) the wipers, headlights and indicators all go off and there is a repetitive "clicking" from the dash. Mostly it just stops happening after a few seconds but sometimes I need to turn the ignition off and then back on again - difiicult on a motorway!

My clio has been in the garage 3 times and they've not been able to find any issue. The first time they suggested it was the hazard light button causing a short...

Any clues are very welcome...
