Laguna ABS light on after changing Rear Brake Discs.

Hello,

I recently got the rear discs and pads changed on my Laguna phase 2. Since then the ABS light, Stop and service lights are on. The mechanic tried to reset the lights twice by plugging his computer but no avail.

Today I was told by a mechanic that the discs in Laguna need to be from Renault only as there is a ABS ring fitted on them and the ones I got for my car (Bosch) dont have those ABS rings..and thats the reason why the ABS lights are on even after resetting them twice. And I will need to change the discs again and put Renault ones to clear all the lights.

I am starting this thread to ask you experienced people if the above info is true. If it is then are there any less expensive alternatives to it.

Hi, as far as i am aware you have the chioce with or without abs, do you have the old discs maybe you could remove the abs ring and fit it to the new discs, also the reason theabs light has come on is becouse as far as the abs is concerned your weel is not turning becouse the senser is not being activated by the ring, im shore i am rite but i could be rong, i hope someone else can also help soon, owen

I'm pretty sure the ABS rings are in the backs of the bearings, did the mechanic swap the bearings over or did they come as a complete kit already assembled?.
