oil leaking from drive shaft??

oil leaking from drive shaft??

on my renault laguna 1.6 RT Sport... today i stopped at my mums house and noticed i was leaking some oil so i jacked the car up to have a quick look and noticed it was coming from my n/s drive shaft where it joins the gear box any ideas??

probably the seal in the gearbox as there is no oil in the driveshaft itself

BZZZZZZZZZZZT wrong, maybe.
If it's the same as most Meganes and Scenics(inc Rx4) there is oil in that CV boot. It's fed from the gearbox and lubes the inner joint.
Does that boot on the CV bolt via 3 small(10 or 11mm) head bolts to the box?
If so, get the boot replaced and do not drive until you do lest the box will die from lack of fluid.
If there are no bolts holding the boot to the gearbox, check the oil seal at the gearbox where the shaft enters the box. If no leak there, check higher up the block/gearbox. It could be the rear cam cover gasket leaking as this is common. Maybe give the engine a gentle wash and then have a check in a couple of days to see where the leak originates as it is easier to see a leak on a clean block.

yup there are a few bolts holding it on so will check that
