Re: camshaft sensor location on megane 1.5dci

The camshaft sensor is easy, on the cambelt cover facing into the fuel pump pulley, held with one 10mm headed set bolt.
Everyone knows where the tdc sensor is, at 12 o'clock on the clutch housing and bolted to the block by two 10mm headed set bolts. Only, on the 1.5dci (or my 05 at least) it is not there. Located about 2 o'clock on clutch housing and secured by one 10mm headed set bolt. Access from below or from above after removing battery and ecu..

Re: camshaft sensor location on megane 1.5dci

The 'camshaft sensor' is a bit of an oddity on the 1.5 dCi engine,as Roby says it runs off the fuel pump pulley rather than the camshaft.

God bless the French.

Re: camshaft sensor location on megane 1.5dci

Hi, Just had my Timing Belt replaced however my clio takes a few turns to start the engine and it starts easier if the clutch is pressed, upon further investigation I have noticed the Camshaft Sensor is loose and missing the bolt, does anyone have the part number or what the bolt looks like, the mechanic that fitted the belt is located 70miles away.

Many thanks in advance.
