Renault Megane Scenic Auto Gearbox Problem

i have a renault megane scenic 16v 1.6 V Reg automatic.
Had major service in may aswell as a cam belt change (85,000 miles)
Last week i was driving as normal but after about 20mins, the car seemed to rev(as if in neutral) then jump in to gear. it only seemed to do this when pulling away from lights etc and also in reverse.
ended up having to call the AA. he said it sounds like no oil in gear box and when he opened bolt said it looked dry so put in a litre of transmission fluid.
i kept car off the road and drove it fine to the garage that did the service on wed and they put it on the computer and said levels were fine. they did see a tiny leak on the cam seal but said its nothing to worry about and to carry on as normal.
drove it today and after about 25mins of driving it has done exactly the same thing.
revs as if in neutral and doesnt go into gear and sometimes jumps into gear.
please please can someone help?

it sounds like the torque converter on the auto gearbox has failed. The cost of a new gearbox would be more then the car is worth so if you want to keep the car the most sensible thing would be to fit a good 2nd hand autobox to your scenic, but I would advise selling the car as spares or repair and buying something newer.

I'd be taking it to a Renault specialist like yesterday. Doesn't need to be a dealer but someone who knows the cars and has a decent guy reputation.
First Q is what sort of trans fluid the AA guy put in it? What year and what transmission is it? If it's the DPO, the problem may well be a sensor or solenoid on the pressure side of the gearbox. If it were low on oil it could display those symptoms. The DPO usually displays those symptoms when cold and they go away when hot from my experiences but yours could still be that problem. Re-reading it, it still sounds like pressure related but that the sensor may play up when hot.
Did they pull any fault codes from the ECU? Have someone with full diagnostic ability look at the car.
I would expect a torque converter problem to be constant and not allow the car to move at all or lock up and not release.

the fluid he put in was called Dextron 11 (titan atf 3000)
just called renault and explained the problem and they seem to think its clutch related.
taking it out mon morning for diagnostics

car has been in the garage this morning having computer check.
just want to ask something before i tell you what was said.........could an ABS fault affect the gear box or shut it down?
