Hi
I am new to this forum and would like some advice,
I have just bought a 1.5DCI scenic(53) with the 86 bhp engine, and I was under the impression that it is in the lowest tax bracket, but the dealer has it down as it being 110 pound per six month one as opposed to 55 quid a year, do the tax brackets vary from car to car as the cheap tax was one of the reasons I chose the car. and I would have got the 1.9 if I had known it was going to cost me the same amount to tax.
Advise please if anyone knows how this works.
Alex

The road tax band depends on the CO2 emmissions of the vehicle, so the Modus 1.5 dci with 119g/km emmissions is band B at £35 per year. A heavier vehicle with the same engine e.g. the Scenic will have higher emmissions and consequently higher tax band.
