Hi. My 1984 camper van has a problematic starter motor. It's 1647 engine petrol. I've had it refurbed but it's sticking and to be honest I just want to replace it now with a new one. The problem is no one seems to be able to get a suitable part to replace! Has anyone got a part number I can cross referance please? The old one has no numbers on.
Thanks.

A campervan is presumably built on a Trafic chassis and probably has a type 841 motor.
The 1647cc was also used in the R18, also in some of the R20, Fuego, R16TX, R17TX.
The 843, A1M, A2M, and A6M motors are also likely to have the same starter.

This site was a handy resource for me but shop around on prices ... I only paid £35 for mine (new, unbranded and unboxed but works great).

Might find it on ebay if you can navigate the part numbers. I got ours for £50 new.
How about this

Says for R18 1.6

EEEK!
The one for the Kia cost me £75, was a refurbished and with a 1 year guarantee.

Just looking at the link, I notice that the beasty has a dowel location.
IT has been known for that to not quite locate so the starter is at a slight angle.
And causes jamming.
