Hi all

I've just bought a 2000 Laguna 1.9Tdi sport with 63,000 on the clock. This is the first Renault i have ever owned and also the first diesel i've ever owned. (i've always had petrols)

I am assuming that there must be some sort of cambelt/timing belt that ought to be replaced. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the schedule for this is?

Also is there anything else I should double check which is particular to this engine?

Thanks in advance

Hi Curzon - The timing belt change is recommended every 70,000 mile or 5 years whichever comes first - it is also advisable to replace the idler and tensioner pulleys at the same time - whilst the work is being done it would be better if the water pump and auxillary belt were changed as the labour cost is usally about the same.:)

Thanks for that - i had better get it done for peace of mind.

Does anyone have a rough idea of a fair price for the work to be done - i've had a quote of £150.
