I have a 2001 Megane Coupe 1.6 (65k on the clock) that has been running perfectly, no problems with starting or running until this morning!
I tried to start it up, but the engine would not turn over at all. Dashboard lights come on, but nothing from the engine. If I try and start it again, the lights come on, flicker intermittently, but still nothing from the engine apart from a clicking sound from the relays.

We've tried jump starting it, and bumping it, with no success!

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be? :help:

You could well have a faulty relay ?

Hi,

This turned out to be a dead battery! We found that when jumping from our Mondeo, even though it would not start, the central locking would work. This is what through us initially, as we thought that it would be enough of a jump to get it going, especially as it's not shown any signs of battery problems before.

But when talking to or local car spares shop, the guy behind the counter said that if the battery was totally dead, even a jump from a 2.2 mondeo wouldn't be enough to kick it into life. So we brought a new battery, installed it this morning, and it started first time!
