Our CD player keeps rejecting CD saying 'error' , anywhere can get it repaired or can you update it to a new new one ??

Hi,

I assume you have tried several different CD discs with same result, so I would determine that the CD part of the radio has failed.

You do not say what unit is fitted t your car ? if it is the original factory one the easiest solution would be to fit a 2nd hand one of the SAME type.
With your car being a 2006 it may have had either the 'TUNER LIST' or 'UPDATE LIST' model fitted. They are NOT interchangeable !
Plenty of both available on eBay .
Your alternative is to fit an aftermarket unit, however without a lot of fiddling about with interfaces and extra wiring you will loose the stalk control as well as the center display.

Your car is a 2006 so the expense and messing about involved with a AM unit is probably not worth it.
Go for a 2nd hand unit (make sure it comes with the security code !)
If you don't like buying on eBay try RENPARTS our site sponsor.

What Al says......
CD players are mechanical items that do wear out.
The laser that reads can fail or get misaligned or it simply could be a poor quality CD.

If you do decide that you would like to upgrade to a more modern head unit, adapters are available, we can point you in the right direction.
But it is more fiddly then a straight swap.
