Hi

Just inherited my parents Espace and there’s a couple of issues. Ive tried searching for this but not seen anything like it. All the lights on climate controls are all lit up orange. Tried pressing them they don’t switch off. Noticed the the rear screen is always heating so I assume the unit is likely faulty? Could it be some control module elsewhere perhaps?

If you press the reduce fan button until the bars disappear the climate control unit should turn off. When it is off no temp value will be shown on the little screen.

Thanks that definitely stops the fan, but all the orange lights are still lit up. I’m gonna try and order a replacement unit. I have found that the fan assembly and something else was changed before. The air con could do with recharging I think as it’s not working. There is a an engine whine which I wondered if it’s air con pump perhaps. Might be one for the garage to diagnose!

If the air con gas is low then the compressor wont kick in even if the aircon is turned on. There is an electromagnetic clutch which engages the compressor. A low pressure sensor stops this clutch from engaging.
I had a few problems with the aircon on my espace which took some time to fix. Beware of so called specialist air con engineers who come to you.... know very little and charge a fortune ! Btw.... all the heating and aircon stuff is underneath the middle of the car in a big black box forward of the fuel tank.

You may well have a fault with the climate control unit. Unless your mechanic has a can clip system to read the renault software you will be wasting your money imho.
A whine from the compressor area.could be many things . ie; auxillary belt idler or tensioner pulley bearing... worth getting another opinion on that though. Is the aircon actually blowing cold air ? If not you probably have a leak somewhere . Fix the leak first then try a regas.
Good luck hope you get it sorted.
