odd question applys to all cars me being a women not to sure !!! can someone tell me if it is okay to drive a car just over 3000 revs i have a 1.4 w reg scenic and when driving 70 mph dips over 3000 revs is that okay or should i stick to 65 ???
Hi there Sarah, the rpm just increases as a consequence of your car's speed. Because the car is going faster at 70mph, it requires more fuel (due to friction) in any case. But because the engine is spinning faster, this also causes the car to use more fuel.
You won't cause any damage to the car, it has a top speed in excess of 100mph, the only point worth noting is that the faster you travel, the more fuel you will use in a particular gear.
very impressed with that info thanks i feel stupid now !! (if i could be really checky could you please look at my other post listed whistling noise from left) would really appricate your view thanks again
