hi ppl,

i have just replaced my rear discs on my new shape megane 2003 1.5dci

since they were changed my ABS warning light has come on my dash board and will not go off.

i have been told their is a sensor on the bearings and they have to be put back the same way they came out, after reversing the bearings again the fault light remains on,

does the ABS light have to be reset after discs have been changed??

any help would be great.

cheers

Paul.

There should be a castellated ring on the back of the bearings or the discs.

Have you got a picture of the back of the old discs handy?.It might be that wrong discs have been used,or that the ring has to swapped over between the old and new discs.

I agree if they arent Renault discs i bet the magnetic pick for the abs sensors are missing,or if the garage have tried to transfer the old rings they have damaged them:(

when the old discs were taken off there was no sign of any rings on the old discs, the new discs that i have bought have got a machined edge that looks like it would take a ring.

But there was deff no ring from the old discs

cheers
