just recently bought my espace and when getting insurance quotes the reg number bought up the option of 2 espaces the 2.1 TD or the 2.1 TD Alize, what's the difference or how can i tell if its the Alize or not?

It really depends on the age of the car ... the easy way used to be if the car was an Espace II RT and had Air Con, a rear load cover and body coloured (not grey) roof/bumper and side mouldings and a badge below the wing side repeaters it was the Alize model.

This originally was a special edition based on the RT that ran from Feb 2004 - September 2004, it was replaced by the RT Champs Elysees another special edition until March 1995 ... then the Alize replaced the RT version as an actual model in the range until the Espace II was replaced by the New Generation Espace in 1997 ... the Espace III, which also had an Alize special edition, before it became a model in the range.

Also check the Oval plate details the trim code is ALZE ... I believe.

cheers for that, i believe then its not the Alize, where is the oval plate? the Alize was more expensive to insure than the std so i'll give the insurance people a bell then.

Hi the Oval plate is on the door pillar ... it says MATRA AUTOMOBILE dont be surprised as it was Matra that actually built the Espace I, II and most of the Espace III's .... Renault just paid to put them back together :rolleyes:
