Please help as a proud owner of a 53 plate scenic 1.9 dci fiji i have developed a vibrating noise from the alternator area.
I have found the belt to knocking and fitted a new belt but to no avail i believe that it might be the spring adjuster ?
The bottom idle pulley also seems have a tight spot could this be the cause of the harmonics of the belt. This is only problem when the engine idles, when revs increase no problem so turning the wheel when idling can make the noise come on but can be very intermiting.
Any feed back would be welcome and thank you all for taking the time to help with my problems.

Hello and welcome to the forum.:)

It could very well be the spring in the tensioner that is getting slightly weak, and it could also be the bottom pulley beginning to break up.

I guess the noise is caused by the tensioner bouncing against the belt?
