Hi All

Im new to this forum and need a little help. I have just been given a clio mk1 1997 with a snapped cambelt. I have been looking around the forums for a while now but cant find the answer and could really do with starting the repair tomorrow.

Im fairly confident in doing all the repairs (head gasket, valves and belt etc) but, do i need any special tools to set up the timing or is it easy enough to fabricate my own.

TIA

Ok, so I have stripped the head and rebuilt it with new valves, i now need a little more advice

1. Do i need to remove the crankshaft pulley to replace the belt?

2 Do i have to use the special tools to fit the belt and do the timing , or is there a workaround method?

Thanjs for any help
