Well, that just plain sucks.

Had my laguna for 1 week today and some tosser drove into the side of it last night and did not stop.

Have damage down the side of the car, indicator ripped out of door allong with black trim, and wheel arch scratched to hell.

All I know is the car had smallish, 14" or 15" wheels with wheel trim (I have the bits of trim in a bag....exhibit A) and that the car I believe is red in colour, since there is clear evidence of red paint scrapes on the black parts of my car that are not from my car.

If I catch who did it I have informed the police I will dropping him into the local station.

£100!!!!!! they should have atleast fined the little sh*t in proportion to the amount of damage he caused! It doesnt seem like your luck has come around yet. but dont forget what goes around comes around, so maybe you'll win the lottery!

6:15 am, main road through the village (30mph, dead straight for 3/4 mile) and my transit van, parked in a row of other cars, was hit by a Polish Immigrant in a Vauxhall Omega.

HE stopped 50 metres down the road, but only because his front nearside wheel had been pushed back to the door pillar at 45 degrees.

Police arrive, breathalyse him and he fails.
When they took a second sample at the nick WHEN AN INTERPRETER ARRIVED 2 HOURS LATER he was just under the limit.

This guy was driving on his Polish licence, and had NO INSURANCE. When I spoke to the copper that nicked him, he told me he could only be charged for the insurance offence and would probably get a £100 fine, plus 6 penalty points IF HE EVER APPLIES FOR A BRITISH LICENCE !!

My van was off the road (no work for me) for a week, cost £150 excess on the insurance policy, and wiped out 3 years no claims - on my Van, my Laguna and my Chrysler.

You can see why they do it cheap car 12 points still on the license no insurance no mot and still come out of court with a few points on the license and £100 fine thats what you call cheep insurance.

Hope you're right - I'm still waiting for my share of winnings and I've been teh victim of hit and run a few times now.

Gutted for you spottedhaggis. In my case, the cops were useless too even though I told them who it was.

Over the past 4 years we have had problems with kids in the street, terrorising the afghanistan next door (a perfectly nice young couple, both work (not leeching of country) and no I am not in anyway racist, if they work they can live anywhere they like, thats my opinion.

Anyway, I have had cars damaged since then, at one poiint whilst I was in Serbia on a work trip, my company Volvo S60 got very badly keyed down both sides, I called maidstone police from my hotel room in Serbia, lol

Nothing ever came of anything.

3 weeks ago, after our foreign neighbour had lit cigarette butts put through her letterbox, they installed a cctv dome camera (moveable one) in the street, so my hope is that they had the camera panned the correct way and saw whoever it was.

If they did, I will claim on their insurance, if they have no insurance I will be sure as hell taking them and their family to court over it.

As far as I am concerned, if a parent is not able to bring up their child to respect others property then they are to blame as well.

Just my opinion, and if I have offended anyone, thats not intentional.

Here are pics of the damage, most of it will likely polish away to near invisibility, but thats not and will never be the point.

Well the door trim seems to fit back on ok, litle lose at the front but can fix that, the scratches will possibly polish out with patience, and I have purchased replacement side repeaters of ebay for £12.00, smoked ones this time, so I suppose its a slight upgrade, lmao.

I don't want to alarm you good people but there are thousands of vehicles out there driving without tax and insurance. They are mostly cloned vehicles and the police aren't interested even when you hand a cut & dried case to them on a plate.

They claim it is because they don't have enough resources and they have more important things to do.

Cloned vehicles are not picked up by the recognition cameras because the genuine vehicle is likely to be both taxed and insured.

I personally gave information to the Stratford-on-Avon police about a scoundrel whom I discovered was driving around in a cloned CLK and they didn't bother until he had 'lost' it. When they went to his house, the car wasn't there so they didn't even ask him what he had done with it. I even gave them the details of the owner of the genuine bearer of that VRM.

Of course, we can all imagine that someone driving a ringer isn't going to stop and identify him/herself in the event of an accident. How many hit-and-run cases are there every year and how many innocent people have been and are being maimed or killed? A quick search on BBC News for "hit-and-run" turns out 137 items.

As I said, I don't mean to alarm.... but if you are calm while everyone around you seems panicky, you may possibly be missing something.

I have already informed the police, should I locate or catch someone in the action, I will grab him, and deposit him at the local station, they informed me that making a citizens arrest is still legal to do. (as a side note they are alowed to take a tumble ... ¤¤¤¤ happens was his wording)

I intend on doing just that. If they have no respect for my property then I will have none for them,
