Hey,

I hope that someone can help!

I drive a 1.4 Clio Mark 2 (2001) and recently, when I start the engine, the stop light stays illuminated along with the battery warning light. As soon as I slightly rev up the engine the light goes off and then stays off until the next time the engine is started.

Is this a sign that battery needs to be charged or something more sinister?

Thanks,

Alex

Sounds like you may have an alternator problem whereby it is not self-exciting.

But get the battery load tested and the alternator voltage checked - many decent battery suppliers will do this check for free in the hope of gaining a sale.:)
