David Beckhams last season with Real Madrid ended in spectacular fashion last night when they won La Liga,Beckhams first trophy with the club.

I'm not a massive fan of his,but you have to admire the way he has handled himself recently. At the beginning of the year he was left out of the Madrid team and also lost his place in the England set up.Rather than moaning and sitting back collecting his wages,he worked hard and finally regained his place in both teams. He was a star for the latter part of the season for Real, and his performances for England have been exceptional.

I wish him well for his new life in America, and hope that he teachs the yanks how to play 'soccer'.....He has had many set backs in his career(some his own making),but has always bounced back. For that he has earned great respect, and I feel it is well deserved.

Talk of a knighthood is very much premature,though........
