Just had the front brake discs & pads replaced on my R reg Megane 1.6e RT Sport. Just after this the Brake Pad warning light started flickering. It does not light during braking and the brakes work fine. I will take it back, but would like to know what the garage has done. Or is this a feature Megane Brakes?

Yes the brake fluid levels look OK, and unless I am wrong, low brake fluid levels would light the handbrake/brake fluid indicator, not the Front Brake Pad Wear Indicator.

The wire on the sensor might have gotten chamfered and it probably shorting out whilst driving. Check the wire on the sensor (my 1997 Laguna had sensors on both sides, but the later 2000 has the sensor on the 1 side only so check both sides just in case)

Tazzy's right. If the wires aren't fitted properly they can rub on the inner wheel rim. This earths the circuit and puts the warning light on.

Good luck when you take it back and let us know how you get on.:)
