Hi

I can blow through both ends of this valve? I'm not sure what this is and what function it has. It is on the pipework between the intake piping and the oil decanter. Any help would be great. Attached photo

Looks very much like a PCV valve which allows pressure to escape from the engine crankcase to the inlet system but yet doesn't allow the inlet system to suck oil from the engine.

What problems are you having - if any??

Ive got a lot of oil in the intake system and my Idle speed is erratic sometimes it holds at 1000rpm at idle. The car makes a moaning sound when accelerating and goes into a mild limp mode in high gear. I am rebuilding the turbo seals etc with a garrett rebuild kit in the vain hope it might improve my car's performance.

Sounds very much like the PCV valve is furbarred - get a new one and clean out the inlet manifold, etc.

Also check the spark plugs as they may be fouled up.

Sorry I should have been more specific its a 1.9dci laguna. Thanks for that I will. Have u any idea how much they cost? Are these valves supposed to have a diaphram in them and being able to blow through both ends is sure fire its knackered?
