After much trouble with my Lag and spending another £150 getting a leak fixed today i decided to trade it in for a Mondeo, when i called a local dealer they said that a common fault with Lags is something called a BSI (i think) and he described it as the heart of the electrical system, he claims it fails regularly and costs a fortune to replace, i pride myself on smelling bulls%#t but with this and the problems i've had recently i'm not sure, am i being spun a line or is he telling the truth?
My satnav has died and my clock on the display has gone up the wall, its making me wonder.

I think Renault call it a UCH,and it does indeed cause a few problems.....it's the control unit for the multiplex wiring system.

I think Citroen and Peugeot call their similar units BSI's.

I would say that Laguna UCH failures are not a common problem.
Yes they fail but in very small numbers.
Unfortunately it is indead the cost of replacement that is the problem..

I guess that you are trying to trade this car with the dealer in question? they might be trying to knock you down on the price they offer by telling you what might happen. However if you sell the car to them it is their risk and of course would you care what happens to it anyway.
