Hope to get our Laguna 1.9 dCi back tomorrow after having the cam belt changed.
Does the new belt 'settle in' and the tensioner keeps it tight, or do I have to return it after 'x' miles to have it readjusted?

On my 1.8 petrol there is no after service, the tensioner does it.

No "readjustment" is necessary on any Renault cambelts...

Thanks, Webby. Picked the car up this evening, travelling back to the UK tomorrow - would have liked it for a few days local driving before going any distance, but your input and Dave's has given me confidence.
I don't know if it's coincidental, but when Renault Fr. changed the belt, they 'discovered' a bad oil leak which needed the sump gasket to be replaced. I wasn't aware of the leak beforehand, so I wonder if they managed to disturb something while fitting the belt etc.
Getting a bill for 780.00 euros made me have a lump in my throat tho........:franco:
