hi all sorry about the new thread to do with the gears but im a bit lost read so meny things on here about gear change
my problem is when i start the espace in the morning
the gears are very stiff/
hard to put in gear not all the time
but after about 20/30 mins then every thing seems fine nice and easy to sellect gears ad a new clutch about 10 months ago so im a bit baffled to why its playing up like this
coukd it be the master cylinder something minor like gear
box oil or clutch gable adjusting and were is the part to put gear box oil in
thanks gary

sounds like your oil mate would be my first suspect tuter one could be the cluch cable bracket expanding and contracting with heat as the engine warms up ?does it do it only when every thing is cold or after every restart no matter how short a time its nb been stood (everything still warm & covered in oil not cold and dry worth thinking about ?

hi gaz

im having the same problem as you on a 98 rxe td but only crunches and hard to selct 2nd gear i have been told of a mechanic that it is due to the oil viscosity or level i know on my car the filler is also a breather which is a little white plastic screw located on the nearside top of the gearbox above and slightly back from the drive shaft you wont miss it as it is the only white feature in that area also i will change the gear box oil in the nxt week so will let you know the outcome

:)
