Hi all, just bought a 2002 clio van but the central locking dosent work, i thought the batterey was dead in the key so replaced batterey but still no red light, the front doors lock / unlock manually but there is no way of locking the boot manually, also central locking button on dash locks both doors but not boot, therefore boot is permanetly unlocked which is not much use for a work van. would really appreciate any help, thanks

If it's the same as the Clio car then it's likely the motor in the rear lock as burnt out, Renault only sell the complete thing at about £45 but you can take the motor out and if you could find one replace it, they are sometimes on Evil-bay.

Sounds like the locking solenoid motor at the rear door is faulty. You'll need to get access to the innards of the door for a looksee.

Sometimes a good drenching of WD40 or the like may get it going again.:)
