Hi,
My Megane Scenic 1.6 sport alize is losing power. It's the 2000 model. I'm thinking is possibly not running on all four cylinders and probably just needs a service but that is maybe my wishful thought. It's shaking when accelerating, doesn't like pulling up hills, is using a heck of a lot more fuel than normal and is a little like driving an old diesel van....and I know what that's like coz I'm an ex white van woman.
Any advice?

Sounds like the engine is misfiring badly.
As an ignition fault is the most lilkely cause I suggest you investigate that aspect first.

Continuing to use the car in this state can lead to CAT damage which can be a costly repair.
