I'm pretty sure 5w 40 or 0w 40 is ok - I didn't know this back then ;)
Currently using 5w 40 fully synth although topped up 300ml of 0w 40 about a month ago.

Agree 0w 30 would be too thin :)

Fully Synthetic 5w40 is the only oil that is recommended for this engine,and pretty much any other dCi engine.

Use anything else at your peril.:eek:

0w 40 is identical to 5w 40 except below something like minus 20 degrees where its a bit less frozen - down on the w number is ok, but the second number should be to spec - too low the oil is too thin, too high its too thick. The w number can be higher in warm climates, but most fully synth seems to be 5w.
