Every so often i will get the message on my dashboard saying "checkInjection". When this comes on the car seems to get a sudden burst of speed and the acceleration is much faster.
This problem is corrected if you stop the engine wait about 30sec and then restart. It only happens if the car has been sat unused for a few hours or more and does not happen all the time, when it does happen it happens within 10 mins of starting the car and once i stop/start it has never happened again.
I have checked the accelerator and it does not apear to be sticking in any way.

Hi, I had the same in my Megane 1.6 16V.
This is annoying problem.
Please try to clean "choke" (I'm not sure if this is right English word for the thing that controls air flow to the engine when you press throttle).
In my case it was dirty with oil. Check also the pipe that goes to the air pressure sensor (or sensor itself)
This pipe could be stuck with the oil as well.
Good luck.

Guys I have this problem with my 2.0 16v Mégane. The fault code pointed towards a faulty throttle body. Three have been tried in it, computer reset and it's still bringing back the fault. My mechanic has put it down to faulty wiring and pointed out the bad condition of some wiring around the engine area.
I've switched to the Laguna for a while as the MPG has dropped to 28 in the Meg. It's going to a Renault specialists next week (if I can shift this b*stard Volvo to fund it), I'll let you know what the conclusion is
i have had this problem for several months now, but cant get to the bottom of it either, have changed plugs coils and throttle body, someone said could be a faulty wire in engine or lamba sensor, good luck post back if u sort it steph:crazy:
I used the engine cleaner RED X, this cleans up all the hard carbon on spark plugs and cleans the injectors to, seems to be working as the error is getting less and less.
Only £3.50 worth a try.
Hi, ive got a 1.4 16v megane extreme bought it private on thursday and on friday this warning came on twice and the car seemed to be revving alot and also seemed more powerful. Then by saturday i went to start it up and it wont even turn over. Anyone else had this problem or know how to solve it as my breakdown mechanic was rather useless!
Hi guys i have the same problem with my 57 plate 1.4 clio-- just happened today and the car is still in the get you home mode--i am going to drive to the next street and get the AA out tomorrow ,I will let you know if he finds anything!
One other thing---the tickover has always been a bit erratic ----if you start the car with some revs then take your foot off it just stops!
Just had the AA out his computer showed about 4 different fault codes but he tried the pencil coils and no3 was duff he replaced it and car is ok ---so far.
A word of warning--- the coil from him was £45
and i know that from a motorist shop they are about £21 hope this helps
