Hardly surprising considering the sort of safety standards they have over there. The roads are very scary and the taxi drivers are crazy.

I know some muppets who'd buy one anyway, under the assertion that "it's perfectly safe if you don't crash it, and I'm not going to crash it." I suspect that these are the same muppets who think that having a metal spike in the middle of the steering wheel rather than an airbag would reduce casualties because everyone would drive so much more carefully.

The uk.rec.cars.misc newsgroup used to be full of them. It was one of the reasons I left :p
