Hi all, my names iain from leeds

i have just purchased a 1993 twingo, a car ive loved for years

i was told when i bought it, that the car is possibly overfueling, when u rev it theres black carbon soot coming out, and the tickover seems up and down

from what im told its the same engine as the renault 5, im fairly mechanically minded but not with these engines

any advice please??

Were you advised when it last received a service and if so what was done.....any more information the seller provided you with regarding this fault?

I'm not at all clued up on the Twingo engine, especially one from 1993 but my first port of call would be to give the car a major service to see if that sorts the issue! Perhaps replace the Lambda whilst you're at it!

previous owner bought it and not used it, there is history of simular problems, it appears to be running rich (very)

i was thinking injectors?? and definatly a full service aswell!!
