Hi, I have a check emissions fault (again) and have read the various posts. I've already changed the camshaft sensor - I've read that cleaning the throttle body may help. Can anyone advise me on how easy it is and where it is.

Is the vehicle running as it should or misfiring etc?

The engine is running great. It's just this "check emissions" fault keeps coming back and I'm trying everything to clear it.

Any help appreciated

I'd be looking at a faulty cat' sensor.

It runs great as its probably overfuelling.

Its best to check the coolant temp' sensor and the inlet air temperature sensor first though.

Thanks, I'll look at the Haynes book to see if it's within my limitations.

I've also been read that it could be the lambda sensor?

Lambda and cat' sensors are the same component

I have the same light on and it has been on for years, the garage computer said intermittant catholytic converter fault but the mechanis thinks ts a O2 wiring bad connection. it passes the annual test no problem, and i may try cleaning the TB to see if that helps, dont want to change O2 sensors as there is two and it could be either and they aren't that cheap and i dont know if they are different sensors or identical to eachother. the only other clue i get is a strong petrol smell from the exhaust.
