Hello, Can Anyone Help? I Have A Clio 1.4 S Reg, 43 K Miles That Was Running Like A Dream. Battery Was Low, Managed To Push Start To Drive Home, Then Put New Battery On. Problems Now Begin. The Car Starts Fine, Runs For 3 Or 4 Seconds Fine Then Starts To Idle Erratic, Is Difficult To Rev And Will Not Drive Under Load. It Will Clear Its Throat Eventually After A Few Revs Out Of Gear But Will Still Not Drive Under Load. I Checked Plugs And Leads (left Hand Lead Arcing Out To Engine So Changed Set) I Also Checked Both Coils Were Sparking At All Leads And Even Borrowed A New Coil And Tried In Both Positions, This Did Nothing, It Needed More Than My Limited Brain. Renault Mech (friend Of My Brothers) Took It Under His Wing And Said Intake Manifold Gasket, Despite Me Saying It Was Fine B4 I Changed The Battery, He Said It Was A Coincidence. This Failed! Next A 2nd Hand Inlet Manifold (suspected Crack), This Failed! Now We Are Onto The Ecu And Possible Spiking. If Was Showing No Faults On Computer At Renault (all Sensors Ok Etc) And I Was Asked To Get It Tested Which I Did At Autotek. No Faults Found. Renault Mechanic And Renault Electrical Specialist Now Dont Know What The Problem Is. Why Can Such A Low Mileage Car With No Running Issues Prior To Battery Change Go So Wrong. Already Plenty Of Till Down The Drain. Can Anyone Help? Thanks Darren

Clio Running Probs After Battery Change

Hello Again, Towed Car Back Home 2nite From Renault Garage, Fitted Ecu Back On Car (been Checked Out By Autotek And Got A Clean Bill Of Health), Put Charged Up Old Battery Back On Incase New One Was A Duffer, Still Running Rough. Seems To Rev Better When Cold, Splutters More When Warmer. Got A Shock Off The Door When I Got Out So About To Check Earths. Fuel Starvation Was Mentioned, Pump Problems Should Show Up On Computer Shouldnt They.

Come On Guys, I Am Struggling Here, All Those Brains Out There, Someone Must Have Seen This B4?

1.4 clio runs rough after battery change. Come on brains of Britain, help solve this

Hi, come on brains of Britain, help me with this one Ive got a bugger of a clio that i cant sort. Disconnected and cleaned all earths today, disconnected sensor leads, sprayed terminal cleaner in all connections and reassembled, took fuel line off and with ignition on there was plenty of fuel coming out suggesting pump and filter ok, checked plugs again, they smelt a bit petrolly but were all sparking well under idle. I noticed a 15 amp blue fuse on rhs of battery with yellow feed into base, fuse ok but no feed, does anyone know what this is? It is next to 60a fuse. I also checked fuel, it burns well (and so do the bloody hairs on the back of my hand!!!) , so fuel quality seems ok. After all this she runs fine for 4 or 5 seconds when fired up then idles lumpy again, spluttering away and not wanting to drive under load.

I have run out of ideas now, do you have any???? Thanks Darren
