Have a 2000 clio grande 1.9 diesel. She drives lovely but as soon as i try to rev past 2800rpm or 3000rpms the car stalls!!! I have to dip the clutch and restart the car with the key. It will drive perfect if you keep the revs down but very dangerous if i need that bit extra to overtake.

Any ideas??? i'm at a loss because of the many things it could be.....any popular problems with this model that I could address first?

Perhaps engine is being starved of fuel. When and at what mileage was fuel filter last renewed?
