Im going to View a 1999 clio 2 1.6 16v tomorrow morning, ive never looked at renaults before and wonderd if there is any serious pointers i should look out for on this model bar the obvious?

From my limited knowledge of renaults.......

Check everything elctrical works
Make sure it has had a cambelt change, and look for an invoice not just 'yeah it's been done'
Check for regular service, especially oil changes
And then basically everything you'd check on any other car

• Make sure you witness it starting from cold.
• Check all the lights illuminate on startup, and extnguish as appropriate.
• Look out for rough running or lumpy idling.
• Under bonnet check oil filler cap for any white deposits, and expansion bottle for any oil traces.
• If original stereo is fitted, check the code is present
• If car has alloys & locking wheel bolts - check the removal bolt, spare & jack are all present.
