I drive a 1999 V-reg Clio.
For a while now its had very noisy tappets, you can't hear them when the cars stood still but when I put my foot on the gas the noise is rather loud and doesn't go.
I was wondering how I would go about replacing these because I think there worn - and how much would the cost be for new one's? I've had them adjusted a few times and nothing has changed. They have been noisey for quite a long time now and the problem is annoying, the radio usually can drown them out but I just want her back to 'her' old quiet self.

I also have another problem, when my rev-count drops below 1000rpm the oil light will flash on and off, this also happens if I'm in a high gear and doing a low speed. This doesn't happen when the car is cold, only when warm, and the oil light will stay on if the car is warm and stood still. I've replaced the oil pressure switch but nothing has changed.

Any help would be great. thanks. :)

I'm not sure about when they where last changed. I'll check and get back.
If the problems are related; what would I need to do to fix them? And would it be expensive?

The oil was changed not long ago and the filter isn't very old either. I've just checked. I'll change the oil and filter and see but if this isn't the problem im back to square one.

Do you have any idea how much the lifters would cost to replace?
