I have noticed (and it is since a clutch master cylinder recall) the resevoir leaks a small amount of clutch fluid past the cap. There is a residue left around the rim of the reservoir.

When I took the cap off (after a run) the clutch fluid was right up to the brim - it is usually lower (I was parked on a slight slop, but should'nt make that much of a difference).

Is this normal? Could the cap be defective? Should it be put on pretty tight or is it better for it to be just normal tightness.

It sounds as though the fluid level has been over filled.....there has to be a gap between the top of the fluid and the top of the reservoir to accomodate expansion under high temperatures.

Thanks,

Also I think I may have been refering to the Brake fluid reservoir (assuming it runs off a seperate system)! - is the clutch a sealed system? Also I noticed on the cap there is a slot in the threads - I guess to allow for expansion.
