Clutch pedal switch Broken?

Hi all,
Recently I think i damaged the clutch pedal switch on my renault clio 2012.
Now my cruise control does not work, but the car drives fines, brake lights work and reverse lights also work.

I took out my switch, but im not able to pull the plunger forward. One of the manuals says it should be 19mm to 20mm out.

But im confused on the process on putting the switch back into my clutch bracket.

Do i depress the clutch pedal fully down, then put in the switch, then lift the clutch back up.

Or do i just put the clutch switch into the clutch bracket while the clutch is up. But if i do this the clutch switch will get pressed in when i insert it?

OR does it not matter which way i do it lol.c

If i missed anything or u have any extra information pls let me know!!

Any help will be very appreciated.
Thankyou!!!

:)

Discard that switch assembly - it's not reliable anymore even if it was before your plier application.

See that bent tab ...................... its part of the mounting mechanism of the switch................. it should not be like that

You grab the switch assembly on the wire side after depressing clutch and turn it anticlockwise 90 degrees and then easily pull it out of the hole ............... remove the plug from the socket THEN.

New switch gets inserted with pedal depressed, turned through 90 degrees clockwise, release pedal, put plug back in
