Do you think there should be a forum on the cost of parts?

for each model, Espace, laguna, clio etc

e.g. Espace oil filter £7 etc.
oil £15 etc

Might be something that could be including in the FAQ system. Might be a bit of a 'mare to maintain. Do you envisage it as something that people can use to find the cheapest parts, or just to find and average cost to aim at?

Good idea , but there are so many regional differences in price. Even a ball park average figure for someone in the North could be a lot cheaper than say we could get it in Cornwall. So we wouldn't know if we were being ripped off or not - except we would because Cornwall is always more expensive than anywhere else. They blame it on the extra transport costs!

That's true - regional variations might make it tricky. We could have a regional sub-category for each part but it might make it a huge job to maintain

If there's an horific difference on some parts we could always pool resources and some of us up 'ere could send them down to you lot down there.

We're not that poor down here.
But the usual "it costs more for the lorries to drive down here" bullsh*t is the standard reply from the councils down here.

Thats funny its the same excuse up here when they have to travel past Carlisle .... obviously the place to stay is ... Nutsford ... more or less the middle .... of what though!:d

Note to self ... Revise Adam Smith - The Wealth of Nations .... esp. the bit on supply and demand - spiders web diagram.
