Cleaned out the waste ink tank on my Epson XP-625, next time if there is a next time I will buy new pads.
Relatively simple to remove, photoed the layout of the pads as they have different cut outs on them.
Washed out in a plastic bowl in the sink, won't get back to white but removed 99% of the waste ink, should do again till the next time. Looks like it was about to flow over the top and that would have been a real mess.
Pads left drying in the airing cupboard overnight.
Hopefully replace them tomorrow and try the fix!!!

I've had an Epson D92 for years .... always used the proper ink (thankfully I don't print out much) and its been good. Last year tried one of those budget refills from a reputable seller ..... me and the machine didn't like it. I found the colour wasn't as deep and the printer was overspraying making the paper too wet and messing up the workings inside. I just buy the Epson inks now when someone has a good price on eBay as its cheaper than the big stores.

Fingers crossed for you KW. :)

Gave up on inkjets years ago because of this and clogged jets. Have two lasers now, one colour and one b/w. Ready to go as soon as you turn them on. Not expensive in the long term but I wouldn't use them for high colour glossy photos.

Tried cleaning the felts, not much success with that, destroys the size and messy, takes ages to dry, dry too fast and they end up like biscuits. Tank has a little crack in it , not right through so ordered two new tanks, Tank £3.66 incl Vat postage £8.00 plus the VAT.Really good printer supplies site.

Same postage for two so why not. Others wanting £8.95 just for the pads, no tank.

Now found some on Aliexpress, dirt cheap for a set of 10.

Just ordered one of these.
Not that I really need another one but wanted to find out what the catch is. I used a one-time virtual credit card. They seem very keen to get rid of them, even discounting the postage when I left it in the shopping cart for two days.

My bad .... was thinking older..... seems Egypt/China/India were there first. Greeks must've been too busy philosophising about it to write it down.

What did you pay for postage? $8.95 is the normal postage.

$12 to Portugal and it is coming from Germany apparently. Maybe they are making their profit here?

Looks like it, I thought I was being robbed at $8.95 for delivery. Postage on such a small item can't be that much so they are probably making $5 on a sale which covers the cost of the unit.

Sounds right. Still it promises to save me thousands and I now have four so I'll be rich by this time next year. Wonder why I never though of this before.
