Hi can anybody help in getting cruise control fitted to 2007 Grand Scenic 1.9 diesel 130 bhp
Renault tell me that it will cost £4000 yes I did put the correct amount in
I would have thought that all the electrics are there to use , and only need the extra bits.
I cant believe they make a special car for cruise control models
I would have specified it as a extra but the car was a gift
Thanks

I would say it would be very difficult to retrofit cruise control and very expensive even by a non Renault Franchise.

It should be possible to retro-fit an after-market cruise control for a little over 200 quid if you DIY. Budget a bit higher to pay someone to install it for you.

Google for "aftermarket cruise control" turns up a few links. Here's an example.
Conrad Anderson UK, Prices for Supplied & Fitted Cruise Control Systems

If you want the factory spec cruise, then you're probably at the mercy of Renault. You're lucky to have found a dealer who's prepared to even contemplate it, though their quote of 4000 quid sounds a lot like "Go away, we can't be bothered with this" to me.

If you only want cruise control, I'd follow the after-fit route. If you want the additional speed limiter functionality of the original system, then you'll have to decide whether it's worth the extra.
