News from Brazil!

Hi guys!

I live in south of Brazil.
Who knows Floripa (http://www.floripaimages.com/wordpress/) ?
Well, I do not own a Renault car. But I own a Renault engine.
Let me explain.
Here in Brazil some PUG 206 have the 1.0 16 (D4D) engine from Renault.
What I am doing here, some of you may be wondering...
I heard that the D4D is much like D4F, basicly change the rods and the crankshat. And a ECU resetting must be done.
So, I want to know more infos about this...
And perhaps do this transformation.
What you have to say about this issue?
And if is possible and worth, I will need the parts code.

Sorry for the delayed response,welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure what work would be involved in modifying a D4D into a D4F,but I would suspect that it wouldn't really be worth attempting.There would be many pitfalls to the job and the gains in performance wouldn't be great.

Hi!
That was done by a guy here in Brazil. I have talked to him but I lost his contact.
The D4D here has 70cv, and with this transformation he won 20cv. Passing from 70cv to 90cv.
I think is great gain of perfomance. And I still with an original engine.
But of course, its all about de money envolved.
You could tell me where can I make a budget for crankshafts and rods?

I've heard that has 2 versions of the D4D engine. That's true?
Another issue, one guy here in Brazil said that he transformed a D4D engine in a D4F. Basicly he changed the rods and the crankshaft. And a ECU resetting must be done.
Tell me more about those things.

I think the low respose maybe just because very few peole would be inclined to take on a job like that unless it was a race car. If you do a mod like that here you should tell the insurance company and they may insist on brakes upgraded as well or just charge more than the faster vehicle rate.
You realy need to re- find the one who has done it before to avoid expensive snags.
