Anyone on here used to own a Dacia?
I used to have a few Dacia Dusters.
They were Renault 12 engines - good, but the bodywork was awful on them. Talk about rust!
The Dacia Denem of course was an identical copy of the R12.
I don't own Dacia's anymore. Too much aggro with them.

The chassis on the Dusters were proper off road types.
Headlights were straight off Renault 12's, as were the engine and most of the running gear.
They were good motors, but not built to survive a UK winter with all the salt around.

what about the dacia denim with the seats made out of jeans
when i worked for renault we used to tell dacia owners to bolt cos chassis no. etc could not be matched an it made getting the right part a nightmare(also volvo an daf's)

The engine was the same as the Volvo 343 as well. All we had to do was get a little mod to go on the clutch housing.
The volvo engines were miles better as well.
The diesel versions could take the Renault Extra lump.

If you need bits for a Renault 12, get yourself a holiday to Romania. Theres thousands of them out there!
