hi does anyone know why my key card for a mk 3 renault scenic is not being recognised by car message on dash reads "card not detected" yet it has a new battery in card ,is the card at fault or is it the cars computer. thanks

Try pushing the card down / up / wiggling as there is a little microswitch in the slot that detects the card which seems to cause problems

Could be either the card reader or the card. Do you have a second card?

The battery in the card is only for the central locking feature. There is a 'transponder' for the immobiliser and start function that need no battery.

9times out of 10 it'll be your card. As said above there's no battery needed for immobiliser, and also try a secondd card, if you have 1? other than that you are looking at a new card.
