Hi, has anyone had any luck using a diagnostic
Code reader on a new shape 1.9 dci scenic 53 reg.
Or does anyone know if it is eobd compliant.

Renault diesel didn't become EOBD/ OBDII compliant until 2004 for petrol engines it was 2001.

You will need some thing like a Renault Can Clip but even the cheap Chinese clones you see on Fleabay are around £200
