hi all....


what is the problem when your diesl engine start to sound like a tractor while idle...??

its starting to tap pretty badly while idle, over 20-30mph it seems to dissapear, but its starting to get louder...

what is the common cause of this...??

Sounds like it may be a leaking fuel injector. A known problem after fitting some plug-in wonder chips.

Some chips increase the fuel injection pressure which ain't good for injectors. Before embarking on replacment injectors you'll need to have a correct diagnosis first.

If you need to replace one injector all should be replaced at the same time - then they will need coded to the ECU.
It should be possible to have the existing injectors refurbished.
A diesel specialist would probably be the cheapest option but expect to pay around £120 per injector.
On most occasions the injectors can be an absolute pig to remove necessitating the use of a specialist puller.

i'll have it checked, the chip may have to come off if it is infact buggering the injectors...

its just sooooo slow without it on..

If the injectors are leaking of course it will be slow - a constantly open injector will reduce fuel pressure.
