what is involed in a service for a 1.5dci engine? having never messed with diesel engines before all i can think off is:
oil change (done with new filter)
air filter change/clean

do the glow plugs need changing?
also i might renew radiator water.

next month i'm changing the discs, pads and tyres and wheel bearing (garage can do them or my dad).

thanks

Diesel service

HI Phil -one other must do when servicing a diesel engine is to renew the fuel filter - it is essential the fuel pump on a diesel engine never gets any dirt or water near it innards otherwise it's furbard. Generally glow plugs aren't changed at regular service intervals unless the engine has a very high mileage. If it were mine I would change the oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter every 9000 miles or every year whichever comes first. Remember a good service is money well spent and the reason for a servicei s not to fix things that are broken but as preventative maintenance.:)
