Hello
I've had an auto-electrician out because when trying to start my van the cooling fan comes on and it won't turn over.
He plugged his laptop in and discovered the ecu would not connect and read the fault and said the van had immobilised itself due to faulty ecu.
He said if I purchase a 2nd hand ecu with the same numbers (8200911560 and 8201112294) he might be able to read the fault( seemed a little unsure)
Does anyone know if this will work?
Any info at all will be appreciated.
Thanks

Possible ...................IMO nonsense.

I would suggest remove the battery from the vehicle, clean battery terminals, clean and charge battery properly, have it tested at a decent battery shop UNDER LOAD, and if it passed the load test, only then refit the battery and try again.
